Workouts that build strength and then teach you how to use it. That includes leg strength for power, core work to connect your upper and lower body, and balance work so you can control direction changes. We also use short sprints and handling-style drills without your dog so your body learns the movement before you bring speed into it.

You need strength that supports how you actually move. That includes single-leg work like split squats and step-ups, glute work for power, and core training in multiple ways not just planks. Rotation, anti-rotation, and standing core work are huge because they help you stay stable and transfer force while running and turning.

Because acceleration and direction changes require more than just running, they require strength and control. If you’re not strong enough, you can’t produce the force you need. If you haven’t built control or the ability to decelerate, your body can’t organize that force. It’s a combination of strength and muscle memory, and both need to be trained.

No. You can make huge progress at home with the right plan. Most of what agility handlers need is simple strength work, short sprints, and movement drills. Small improvements add up quickly, and being able to train at home makes it easier to stay consistent without needing to leave your dog behind.
